Type 2: Polyurethane (PU) Liquid Coating
Applied by brush or roller, PU coating cures to form a seamless, flexible membrane. Excellent for complex rooftop geometries with parapets and drainage sumps. Applied in 2–3 coats with reinforcing fabric at joints and corners. Lifespan: 8–12 years. Lower cost than bitumen membrane but requires earlier maintenance recoating.
Type 3: Acrylic Waterproofing Coating
The most affordable option — and the least durable. Acrylic coatings are suitable for very minor surface sealing and maintenance top-ups only. Cannot bridge active cracks or handle constant water ponding. Needs re-application every 3–5 years. Not a primary solution for an actively leaking roof.
